Solid Fuel Cooking Ventilation
Perfect for use with solid fuel kitchen equipment.
Solid Fuel Cooking Ventilation
Here at Partridge Ventilation Limited, we deliver robust and compliant ventilation solutions for solid fuel cooking appliances, which are increasingly popular in both commercial kitchens and high-end domestic settings.
Solid fuel cooking—whether using charcoal, wood, or other biomass—produces higher levels of particulates, carbon monoxide, and heat compared to gas or electric systems. This demands a ventilation system that not only ensures safe air quality but also meets stringent fire safety and environmental standards.
Leveraging our expertise in bespoke ventilation design, we can offer tailored extraction systems that incorporate fire rated ductwork, spark arrestors, and multi-stage filtration units. These systems are designed to handle the unique challenges of solid fuel cooking, such as grease-laden vapors and soot particles, while maintaining airflow efficiency and compliance with DW172, HSE and Building Regulations. We can also integrate automatic fire suppression systems and access panels for routine cleaning, ensuring long-term safety and performance.
In addition to installation, Partridge Ventilation provides full lifecycle support including site surveys, maintenance plans (through our Service & Maintenance arm) along with compliance documentation. Our solutions are ideal for restaurants, pubs, food trucks, and rural hospitality venues where solid fuel cooking is a key part of the culinary experience.
We manufacture all our duct work in house, at our workshop in Redruth, Cornwall and by combining technical know-how with a commitment to sustainability and safety, we help our clients achieve reliable, regulation-compliant systems that enhance both kitchen performance and customer satisfaction.

Our system has the added benefit of being linked to CO and CO² monitoring. Should the operator turn the fan off and embers are still giving off CO and CO². Our monitor will detect the levels of CO and CO² increasing to unacceptable levels and run the extract fan up until acceptable levels are regained. The Water Mist system is fully interlocked with the fan to avoid operator misuse.
